The Joseph Panel on the North Gates of the Baptistery, Firenze

 

This panel depicting Joseph being sold into slavery is the third from the top on the right side of Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise.

Ghiberti skilfully uses perspective by creating background architectural features  in order to give the impression that the flat panel is in fact three-dimensional.
