World Famous Paintings in the Uffizi: Bacchus in Room 43 by Caravaggio (1589)

This is Caravaggio's portrayal of the excesses of a misspent youth. Bacchus, the God of wine, is portrayed as a beautiful adolescent bloated by the vices of the flesh, his corruption mirrored by the bowl of rotten fruit at his side.
