Layout of the Uffizi Galleries in Firenze

 

The Uffizi galleries are arranged in a U-shaped fashion. The above picture is a view from the Doric portal which links the two symmetrical wings. The tower in the background  forms part of the Palazzo Vecchio opposite the entrance to the Uffizi. The visitor enters the vestibule and then proceeds through the east corridor passing Room 1 - Archaeology, Room 2 - 13th century and Giotto, Room 3 - 14th century Siena, Room 4 - 14th century Florence, Rooms 5/6 - International Gothic, Room 7- Early Renaissance, Room 8 - Lippi, Room 9 - Pollaiolo, Rooms 10-14 Botticelli, Room 15 - Leonardo, Room 16 - Map Room, Room 17 - Hermaphrodite, Room 18- The Tribune Room, Room 19 - Perugino and Signorelli, Room 20 - Durer, Room 21 - Bellini and Giorgione, Room 22 - Flemish and German Renaissance, Room 23 - Mantegna and Correggio, Room 24 - Minatures.

Having passed through the east corridor the visitor crosses the portal overlooking the River Arno which links the east and west wings, and then continues along the west corridor through the following rooms: Room 25 - Michelangelo, Room 26 - Raphael and Andrea del Sarto, Room 27 - Pontormo, Room 28 - Titian and Sebastiano del Piombo, Room 29 - Parmigianino, Room 30 - 16th century Emilian artists, Room 31 - Dossi, Room 32 - Sebastiano del Piombo and Lorenzo Lotto, Room 33 - 16th century, Room 34 - Veronese, Room 35 - Bassano and Tintoretto, Room 36 -40 exit vestibule, Room 41 - Rubens, Room 42 - Niobe, Room 43 - Caravaggio, Room 44 - Rembrandt, Room 45 - Italian and European 18th century.
